Lavender Essential Oil
Sanatio Essentials recently sent me a bottle of their Lavender Essential Oil which is made in England and 100% natural. Today I thought I’d share some of the ways I like to use this most essential of all essential oils.
Lavender Essential Oil is a useful addition to your makeup bag and can solve many a beauty SOS. Don’t apply it directly to the skin as it can cause irritation so always mix with coconut oil before using. I never travel without Lavender as it’s great for soothing sunburned skin and relieving chapped lips. It also is said to be very effective for treating cold sores and skin conditions like eczema and dermatitis.
Used directly on the scalp, Lavender Essential Oil moisturises the scalp, treats dandruff and reverses all types of hair loss. Added to coconut or almond oil it makes a gorgeous hair mask which moisturises and conditions for luscious, lustrious locks.
What I love most about Lavender Oil is it’s relaxing properties. Whenever I feel stressed or anxious, I warm a few drops between my hands and inhale. Seriously this calms me down in seconds. Adding a few drops to bath and to my pillow at night, really does ensure a good nights sleep.
I love to fragrance my home with the calming scent of Lavender by adding a couple of drops of oil to my diffuser. Doing the same with my iron ensures my clothes always smell beautifully fresh and fragrant. Although it smells fab to me, bugs HATE Lavender Essential Oil, so I keep them at bay by soaking a couple of cotton wool balls which I place in the bottom of my wardrobe. Another lovely tip is to add a drop or two onto the edge of toilet roll which releases the fresh fragrance whenever someone takes a sheet from the roll.
Have I missed anything? How do you use lavender essential oil?
