This advent I was lucky enough to be gifted an Look Fantastic advent calendar and decided to share it with you.
So here are this weeks treats!
Day 1 : The calendar got off to a spectacularly good start with the cutest bottle of Pixi Glow Tonic – easily enough for a holiday or the perfect try me size.
Day 2: I was so chuffed when I opened door #2 and found a whopping 70ml tube of the Magic Touch Body Cream by Rituals. I instantly popped this into my bag as I was going out after work for Christmas drinks. When I got changed I smoothed some onto my arms and legs to give them a little glow and WOW it smells divine.
Day3: I had never heard of the brand Inika so I checked it out online and learned that it is a luxury Australian brand that is vegan and cruelty free. The product itself is the most beautiful pinky nude shade that applies easily for a natural blush with a really pretty gleam. I was super pleased with this one.
Day 4: I literally let out a little scream when I opened door #4 because this is a product that has been on my wish list forever. I could hardly wait to go to bed so that I could try it and I have used it every night since. It smells amazing and feels so soothing and relaxing. I will definitely be treating myself to the full size of this.
Day 5: I couldn’t believe it when I opened door #5 and found a bottle of the Moroccanoil Treatment. This is such an iconic product. It was the first hair oil to hit the UK market and for me, it is still the best. I like to add a few drops of this to my hair before drying to protect it from heat damage and breakage. I love how it leaves my hair looking and best of all, the fragrance it leaves behind. Door number 5 was a winner for me.
Day 6: This was an interesting one. I had heard of this brand but hadn’t tried anything from them. You all know how much I love highlighting products though so I was excited to try this. I applied it all over my face before my foundation yesterday and despite using my favourite, super matte MUF foundation, my skin really did have a beautiful, subtle sheen. It does also contain SPF15 – not that it’s sunny in Glasgow at the moment but SPF’s always a bonus.
Day 7: Apologies for the blurry photo guys, this were taken on the go and I didn’t realise until later that my camera had focussed on the calendar instead of the product – oops! Nudestix is another brand I had never tried before but I had read SO many rave reviews of their Lip and Cheek pencils that I always wanted to give it a go. I have to admit, I only used this stick on my lips. I am not really a fan of creams on my face – they show up the dodgy texture of my skin – so I prefer a powder blush. I did love the shade of this pencil for my lips though and couldn’t wait to pop it on. So far I have been wearing it for a couple of hours and can tell you it feels really comfortable and is lasting well despite my massive morning cup of tea.
Phew – what a week of amazing treats. Hero products from well loved brands with some cult beauty bits thrown in. Thanks Look Fantastic. I can’t wait for next week!!
